Empowered Citizens provides professionally staffed services to individuals in need of substance abuse and mental illness support. Specifically, we aim to serve struggling youth between ages 13 to 21, as well as their families.

We offer three main services to aid in substance abuse recovery and mental health assistance.

Alternative Peer Groups (APG)

An Alternative Peer Group (APG) is a community-based, family-centered, peer support program offering pro-social activities, group counseling and intervention for youth who struggle with substance abuse and mental illness.

Intensive Outpatient Therapy

Empowered Citizens utilizes the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) guidelines, in addition to a Comprehensive Clinical Assessment to determine level of care for youth. Length of Stay is always based on medical necessity for treatment.

DWI / SAP Programs

Empowered Citizens (EPC) is fully licensed by NC DWI Services and will assist you with your assessment in a professional, confidential and timely manner. EPC will often complete an assessment the day you call to request an appointment.
